If anyone's experienced similar problems, lmk! altho thank you for providing a copy of the sims to begin with. i didn't even get to really test the gameplay aspect! whew. i might ctrl+alt+del and start up the game again, but i don't even want to think about looking for the missing portrait files or trying to mess with the buy-mode pop-ups. I went to save the game and exit, so i could restart the game and see if that hiccup was just a one-off, but now my game's frozen. so i literally had to hover each item i could afford (which means no hope telling what those expensive items are) and guess what the comfort and decorative stats were. my sims portraits were blank in create-a-sim, and then when i moved the family into the house and started furnishing, the pop up descriptions of the items would blink out AND the portraits of each item was blank. only hiccup was i had trouble drag+dropping the cracked sims.exe file into my program files, and i had to specifically use the "move to" option at the top of the finder window.Īnyway, the game loaded in ok! but the hud is doing something funky. Running Mavericks 10.9.This installation process worked just fine for me. Aspyr did a heck on a job optimizing this for modern OSX Macs. Again, this is a very good port, runs so sweet on my iMac. Maybe Aspyr could help post this info? Keyboard mapping and MacOSX-specific shortcuts, F-key shortcuts, etc. The only problem is that I would like to see how the keyboard is mapped in this current MacOSX Super Collection. Not a game breaker for me, since I saved my original manuals/booklets from the Windows version (lots of manuals since I owned several expansions). Neither did Amazon or Origins, even though they all supposedly sold a Mac TS2 port at some time in the past. Sims 2 For Mac The Sims 2: Super Collection On The Mac App Store Tutorial: Installing CC And Mods In The Sims 2 Ultimate. I was hoping that the Internet would have some kind of digital manual for TS2. Here are the best Sims 2 mods for 2020 to download. Just enabled zoom up just a bit more.ģ) Issue #3 is . I simply edited one section of the text file NeighborhoodCamera.txt I easily found guides that told me how to adjust (using TextEdit) so that the max zoom lets you "see" more of the hood at any given angle. It's like they are out-of-bounds in a blindspot just beyond the edge of your play screen.īut this apparently was a Maxis default, not Aspyr's fault. What should be playable lots at the edge of the city map is just barely out of playable view. Even at max zoom (using the mouse scroll-wheel), you can't even see the entire *playable* neighborhood. Maybe it's in a hidden directory?Ģ) The default "zoom" in Neighborhood View is just too limited. And before I forget, many thanks to Aspyr for bringing this classic to the MAS!ġ) I played this some years back on a Windows (Vista) machine. To start, this is a fantastic port, buttery smooth on my late-2012 iMac. Oh wait, maybe it was Seasons (where Katy sang the Simlish dub of Hot N Cold). That's the expansion with some of the best tunes/tracks IMHO, including Simlish songs dubbed by Katy Perry and similar artists. I will miss Free Time expansion (not included) however. Many have demanded their money back.Ĭompared to EA's recent Mac Sims port, I'm sure this Aspyr Super Collection will be a far superior porting job. Have you read the TS3 Mac Forums? Full of hatred and bile towards EA-Maxis because of all the bugs and poor performance of the Cider port. As far as I can remember, the Mac ports done by EA-Maxis were criticized as craptastic Cider ports. Been playing The Sims since the Windows Vista era, and yes I even tried TSO (The Sims Online).
